You have to remove both skid plates to access the oil pan and filter. I love the design of rame rail right under the drain.

Real easy, and no...

All you need is a 13MM socket and a 3" extention...Then get the right oil filter (PF-61) and You'll need a band type oil filter wrench.

You'll need to remove both Skid panels to do the job..Good time to put a little elbow grease on the H3 panel and shine that bad boy up while you're at it, while you're letting the oil drain.....Expect to put back or refill if you wil, with 6.25 qts, including filter ( I perfer Castrol Syntec)..Be sure to fill the new oil filter first before you screw it back on....

All bolts and drain plug are 13MM.

I do this every 5000 miles....Don't forget to reset your Oil Change reminder on your DIC.

Hope this helps..

i changed my oil once since i got it. it says the next oil change is going to be around 13,500 miles on my onstar thing. Im just doing what GM recomends. Im not going to change unless it tells me to. I do use synthetic though.

I had 198,000 miles on my dodge ram 3500 dually wit the v10. I changed oil every 20,000 miles or so, always used synthetic. I worked for dodge at the time and the service manager always sent a sample of my oil out for analysis. Every time the tests showed the oil was within all performance parameters and had 20-30% oil life left. My dodge is gone but the new owner now has over 250,000 miles on it with no problems what so ever.

I always have always used Mobil 1 Synthetic and premium fuel on all my vehicles and never went more than 5,000 miles.without changing the oil and filter. I guess it depends on how the miles were put on. City driving is pretty rough with all the stop and go bs. My cars always ran really well and never gave me any problems. I love my Mobil1 and Shell's V-power.

If nothing else, the more frequent oil changes gives me piece of mind and I always say; it's cheap insurance.

Besides...If you get under your rig more often, you get a chance to clean out the road kill hung up there (maybe a stray possum or armadillo or skunk)..Be seriously you get to inspect things before they really go bad, also it's great excersise.
