display says " service 4 wheel drive". anyone knows what are the possible reasons to cause it? i did some research. some says shift thru 4 wheel drive buttons at least 5 times. another fix is checking wires in TCCM. any other opinion is appreciated

 

Engage and disengage it usually works. Make sure you know how to do it.

Mine had a short in the wires going to the E locker, inside the diff.

 

More often than not it is the buttons causing the issue. That is the cheapest thing to start with then go from there-encoder motor, wiring, etc. I also engage the various modes when I go offroad to keep everything lubed up in the TC.
