Had to engage 4 low last night and the serv 4whl came up on the display. only have have 6500 miles on unit. has anyone had this happen. It goes out when put back in 4 high. Any suggestions?

 

You have an H3 correct? When you shifted to 4lo lock, did it appear to operate properly as best as you can tell? This may have to be scanned and looked at by your dealer, but if it were me I would switch to 4lo (on dirt) drive a short distance at under 25mph, and then see if this warining repeats itself. This is the message indicating you may have a problem with your transfer case control system. If you where wheeling you may have loosened the Tcase wiring plug/connection, or the switch may be bad. Crawl under and look for the wiring plug into the Tcase and give it a wiggle. Otherwise, hello dealer. [:'(]
