I am on the fence here and have been for a week or so. I drive one, like it and then drive the FJ Cruiser and like that too. So, can someone pass along the good selling points for the hummer? Perhaps more in fun that anything else, but facts as well. I know no one can make another's mind up, but some selling points to the wife may be good ammo to have...

 

Looking at possibly buying an FJ? Google this, FJ body rip. Seriously though, just take into account the warranty on both. 4/50,000 basic 5/100,000 powertrain on the H3, 3/36,000 basic 5/60,000 powertrain for the FJ H3 also comes with roadside assistance, FJ does not. Oh and the H3 is built by an American company so the profits stay here. And I know its purely subjective, but IMHO the H3 is much better looking.

One last thing, the H3 has four full size doors rather than 2 full and 2 suicide on the FJ- makes entrance and egress on the H3 much easier. H3 also has higher resale. And most importantly, the H3 is far more capable off road.

We test drove an FJ before we bought the H3. Ride was OK, but if you will regularly have back seat passengers (that you like anyway) I'd pass on the FJ. The access via the half doors is poor, and once you're in the back seat you feel like you are in a cave - no offense to my caver friends. Visibility is marginal.

Just my opinion, but the dash panel carrying the body color looks like something from a kid's toy.

BTW, the FJ offroad trim comes standard with BF Goodrich All Terrain KO tires - probably a better choice than the standard tires on the H3 Adventure.

 

I looked at the FJ...in my humble opinion, not even in the same category. I thought it was cramped and very underpowered, look "gimicky"...and horrible MPG. Not that the H3 is great at either, just over-all, no comparison. Hummer is just in a class by itself. I think the FJ, Dodge Nitro and some Jeep models are all copying the Hummer look, they just don't support the negative liberal media hype. Back when I was really into Harley's, the common phrase was, if you have to ask, you will never understand. Pretty much applies here I think. Again, just my humble opinion.

I never looked at the FJ so I can't say anything about it, but my H3 Alpha w/adv. package is amazing, and I prefer to support American business when ever I can.
