Default Schwartzy skid pates

Has anyone used the Schwartzy full skid plates? He recently changed the skids from steel to aluminum. But my primary concern is they will trap all the heat from the exhaust between the skid plates and bottom of the body and add more heat around the transmission, and transfer case with zero airflow or way for the heat to escape.

Does anyone have any experience with these or other skid plates?

Thanks for moving. I have no idea how I double posted? And it would not let me fix it.

So anyone have experience or opinions on using full skids under their H3?

Great way to haul around a huge amount of mud and dirt. Old school method was full skid plates. I made a set for myself as I do a lot of wheeling in the woods and thought the cage UCP would trap and drag limbs/sticks etc. Turns out the cages are not limb trappers and we know they do not hold dirt and mud on top. A solid skid plate, even with holes cut out for draining crud, still trap a chit load of material up under the truck.

I scrapped the plates for other parts and considered it a learning experience. Just my .02 cents.

I had a fairly negative experience with Schwarttzy with their high clearance leaf spring mounts. Bad design, bad manufacturing, bad quality, bad customer service. Zero star review for the business from me.

There was someone years ago who used just plain metal tube and made a pretty decent protective cage so to speak. Very simple design and effective. I remember they welded thin 1/8" ish plate in the areas that had to be protected better. The above image is just a example... this is from the H1 but gives the basic idea.

X2, a bad overall experience with HIM and his product.
