Scanner/Programer
#11
A TECH2 may be able to reprogram it.
IF you know that the Generator Battery Control Module is the issue wouldn't replacement vs. reprogramming a faulty unit be the wise thing to do? I have only known these to "go bad" when someone tired jumping and reversed the cables (positive to negative).

I don't know what happened, but it wasn't a reverse polarity issue.
I did buy a new unit, but it needs to be programmed. The only dealer in PR (perhaps knowing he is the only one) ask to much to program it. I prefer to pay more for the gadget, do it myself, and keep the scanner/programmer for the future, and to help someone else who may need it.
Thanks for your help.

Dealerships use a Tech II programmer. It accesses ALL of the GM programming.
A real Tech II programmer sells for over $4000.
Ebay is loaded with clones for much cheaper but they are junk, do not work & are a waste of money.
DO NOT buy a clone.

I found this one, but, for $300 I bet it isn't the programmer you recommended!!!
