Thumbs up Rotopax Fuel Containers

Just put a couple of Rotopax fuel jugs on my rig. Seem to be really well built. Thought I'd pass it on.

Looks slick. How are they secured to the rack? Lockable? I'd like to know what model roof rack that is too.

Nice! Hope you got the locking mounts for them. With gas at $4 per gallon you got $24+ sitting on your roof (plus the cost of the Rotopax)!

They're 3 gal each and mounted up with locking mounts and the Rotopax mounting plate found here...

...I was pleasantly surprised the plate comes with all mounting hardware perfect for bolting up to roof rack. It's a clamp style mount similar to how roof racks get clamped onto the factory cross members, it works good but I may replace the hardware with some smaller U-bolts. Just had to drill 4 extra holes in the plate so it was spaced properly for my rack.

The Rack - its a Rola rack with the extension. They sell it super cheap at Sears of all places. If you ever get one make sure you seal up the joints really good during assembly with black polyurethane glue(same stuff they use to put windshields in) or water will get inside it and you'll have a problem with it rusting out from the inside, or take it into a muffler shop and get the joints welded. The welds leave something to be desired on this rack and it's actually quite heavy(wish it was aluminum) but the price is right. It was a little over $200 with the extension.

So you got the two 3 gallon containers, the mounting plate, 2 LOX pack mounts, and two 3 gal extensions for the LOX mounts?

Sorry about being so nosey. But I have been wanting to do this and am ready to pull the trigger. Thanks!

When you get the mounting plate you get to chose which type of mounts you want for it. Mine are the LOX mounts. You won't need any sort of extension for the 3 Gallon containers, only if you want to stack them.

Just re-mounted the plate with U-bolts. Looks much better.
