Default OEM GM Cat Back Dual Exhaust Alpha - Any good?

Hi everyone, i'm new to the hummer world. Just bought an Alpha for my wife. I searched the forum for this (and the net) but haven't found anything on the OEM dual exhaust (GM part #19165601). I think it might fit the I5 as well but be minus the stainless tips.

My question, is the GM OEM dual exhaust cat back stainless any good? It looks nice and if I search around i can get a killer deal on it but I wasn't sure with the 90 degree bends if it would sound good. I saw something on the net that said it might be made by B&B. I'm not sure. I've always done customs on my trucks (flowmasters) so just trying to see what people think. I'm looking for a nice throaty sound but not too rough in the cab due to my newborn and 3 year old. I've got a bad a@@ Jeep Wrangler Unlimited lifted, etc. so that's my offroad ride so the Alpha won't be on any trails probably.

Any input would be great. Thanks!
Mike

Don't know about the GM exhaust. I've seen a few comments on here......did you use the search tool? Anyway, we have the MagnaFlow system and it sounds great. Not too loud, but enough to know it's on there!!

Here is the search results I got for "GM catback exhaust": https://www.hummerforums.com/forum/s...earchid=686111

Good luck and enjoy your Alpha!

I have the GM performance exhaust on my Alpha and love it. $200 new on ebay. It will NOT fit the I5. 2 completly different systems. 19165601 is the Alpha only exhaust.

Default I have the alpha gm performance exhaust

Search eBay I got mine for 275.00 shipped. This is a 1200.00 dealer piece. The eBay guy is legit and it comes with tips with H3 on it. Frank kent motors in Texas was the place I got mine. I contacted them directly and negotiated the eBay item and save a few bucks, bolts right up and sounds great

Thanks everyone for the replies. I did try the search tool but for some reason i didn't get anything relevant. Thanks for the link and for the feedback. I saw Frank's site and how cheap it was and that's why i'm thinking GM exhaust. I appreciate it guys!

I may see what a local shop can conjure up too for a solution but really want to keep it to a budget.

Take care,
Mike

Got the MagnaFlow on mine. Its nice and throaty but not too loud. They have come a long way from the garbage they were 10 years ago. Lifetime warranty to boot.
