roof marker lights not coming on

roof marker lights not coming on
hi everyone, i am still a huge newb when it comes to the Hummer. I just bought it last sat!
But last night i noticed the roof marker lights are not illuminating. I could have sworn they blink when u lock/unlock the doors.
Do they only turn on when driving? Or at night? please help!
