Default Rims and Tires

Hey guys I am looking into buying some new rims and tires for my H3 Hummer and I was looking at Tirerack.com and I pick a set of rims I wanted and a set of tires and when i check the shopping cart it said Tire Pressure Monitoring System sensors availble for $172.00.....

First of all im guessing the Tire pressure monitoring system sensor is a device that tells the hummer when your tire pressure is low, if im not right then can someone please explain it to me

Second do i have to buy the Tire pressure monitoring system sensor or can I just buy the tire and rims and put them on my hummer and start driving

Please just give my your advice on this.........is it better to just buy the sensor or is it better to just forget about it and check to tire pressureon your own

you do not need the sensors but you might get the service TPM message when you start the truck, if you do get the message just push in the trip odometer stalk and it will go away till your next ignition cycle. I have had no sensors for a year now and have recieved TPM message a total of three or four times...the entire system sucks and hardly ever works. Or if you want the TPM system just have them taken out of your stock rims and put into the new ones....majority of the new aftermarket rims will fit the sensors. They are attached to the air stem that you use to fill the tire....it's all one unit. Just so you kno, I have a company that can blow away tire racks prices....many here have followed my recommendation and have used them in the past. That is if you are going with an off road or a A/T tire.... I can only guess but I think they have other street tires also.
