haven't replaced mine yet, sorry no help.

 

remove the bolts out of the base mount. remove the whole assembly. mount the base in a vise, remove the roll pin that goes threw the base and the rubber mount. install the mount on the new hood strap by reinstalling the roll pin.
next take the cotter pin out of the upper clasp. remove that pin and remove the clasp.
now install the lower mount back onto the hummer. install the upper clasp but make sure that you mount it the correct side out so that the clasp it facing outward when the hood is closed and the clasps grab the hood.
i know these directions may sound stupid but if you put the clasps on first and than mount them back on the hummer,you would have a 50/50 shot that you installed it right.
