Default Replacing factory radio

Just got an 09 Hummer H3 last weekend and was wanting to replace the factory radio but had some questions I hope someone can answer.

Is the factory bluetooth built in to onstar or the factory headunit? I'm wondering if I replace the headunit with a Pioneer AVH-X5500BHS and use the Metra GMOS-01 integration adapter if I will retain the same functionality with the factory blue tooth.

My guess would be if it uses part of the onstar system it would still work as normal, but if the bluetooth feature resides in the factory head unit it would now work differently or not at all.

If you do loose the factory bluetooth feature, will the bluetooth button by the dimmer switch still work with the aftermarket head unit? Will you still be able to utilize the factory microphone with the adapter?

I also read there is a rear support bracket that has to be removed/cut in order to install an aftermarket head unit? Is this difficult to do?

Thanks

That rear support bracket is just a tab welded on to some piping back there. Mine snapped right off with a pair of pliers. I dunno if you have the monsoon system but I was told (and sold) the gmos-04 for my vehicle by crutchfield. I didn't pay attention cause I changed out the radio so quick after buying my truck but my rear speakers aren't working. I dunno if they're blown or it has someithing to do with that gmos unit. Gotta plug my factory radio back in and see.

Make sure they put the new microphone in the factory position, the shop that installed mine put it up by the windshield and it sucks. Most people can just hear the echo when I am talking to them because of all the noise it picks up.
