Default replacement head light bulbs on H3

Has anyone replaced the factory OEM head light bulbs on their H3 with the PIAA bulbs.

Reason I am asking is that one site I was going to order from recommened that you needed to upgrade the existing wiring harness to a heavy duty one to prevnent any heat problems and burning out the factory wiring when you installed the new bullbs

And guess what they just happen to have the heavy duty wiring harness.

Is this just a way to get more $$$ from you or is this legit

Thanks for the help

I don't care what kind of buld you put in a three, the reflector design sucks and that is THE limiting factor. Even the $$ for HID kits does not dramatically improve lighting.

I went with 8500K blue Xenons, headlights and fogs, better than stock and a lot less $$ than some of the replacement stuff they sell out there.

The stock headlight harness can handle 65/55W bulbs, go beyond that and you'll need a harness, or risk frying wires... and the higher 90/80W etc. bulbs are not really gonna do that much more for you anyway???

got the piaa bulbs, and great improvement, i have the h13 head lights bulbs and they are the stock wattage, my piaa fog bulbs are 9005 and 120w and this was recomended from my local custome shop and said they would not fry my harness and i have had them a year now with no issues plus they gave me a guarante that if any problem they will fix ,just keep reciept and they signed it saying they recomended the bulb so if the wires harness melts they will replace free of charge or any other damage that occurs from it. so do what u want but thats my set up
