head light bulbs
Hello, I have a 2007 H3. The stock headlights are very dim, so I went to Advanced Auto last week and bought the Sylvania Silverstars. The number for H3 headlight bulbs are H13. All the aftermarket ones use this number also. I tried to put the bulbs in in the parking lot of the store but they didn't seem to fit. I went in to the store and the manager came out and tried to install them. After trying for about 20 minutes he concluded that they do not fit. He suggested to try a different brand at a different store. Since then I've tried Hella, and yesterday I bought PIIA bulbs from Summit racing. They were $100 for the pair. They also did not fit. I am just wondering if anyone has found a replacement bulb that works for the H3? I do not want to replace them with stock bulbs. They are just not bright enough. And has anyone else encountered this problem with bulbs not fitting their H3? Thanks, George
I have not experienced the problems that you have had. I purchased these and had no install problems. http://www.streetglow.com/H13-Xenon-...&category=2834 They are a noticeable difference than the stocks, but I also replaced the driving lights too. It claims HID comparable, but I wouldn't go that far. The package for the bulbs were marked H13 and H10 for the driving lights so I'm not sure about the problem you're experiencing. Maybe this will help http://www.sylvania.com/ConsumerProd...RG-Results.htm
According to this the silver stars would be H13ST. Hopefully you get them working

try taking the little red ring out of the bulb its self i had this same problem when i went to install the hella h13 xeono blue bulbs i bought and discovered that theres like a rubber gasket type thing insereted around the bulb
Do not remove the gasket if you live in a humid area, rains alot, or if you spray wash the engine bay. Not to mention dirt/dust developing along the inner bottom of your headlight. The gasket protects against moisture and condensation developing inside your headlight. Trust me, there's better things to do other than wasting 10-20 mins blowdrying the inside of your headlight. The gasket is there for a reason.

yea gaskets there for a reason but thats how i got mine on - with the gasket on they woulden't fit so you want to tell me why?
THanks Airborn, No, I wouldn't try removing gaskets as their purpose is very important. I will check out those lights you mentioned. It's been a nightmare to say the least. But the people at Sylvania and PIIA have been great and are looking into the problem. All the complanies so far have said that replacement bulbs are supposed to fit exact just as the stock ones did, so there is some sort of manufacture problem or there is a problem with both front headlight assemblies on my hummer. It's just weird that the stock ones fit perfectly and no other bulb will go in. Thanks again.

yes this happened to me, i thought something was wrong, but then realized that the old gaskets were still stuck to the headlight casing.
