Remote starter - viper

So my gf got me a Viper 5901 remote starter + alarm and as I am looking at the installation costs ranging about $300 I am wondering if it's worth it or I should return it lol

1- I heard it's really hard to install so I should avoid doing myself right?

2- Is there any cheaper brands? or do all remote starters cost this much?? cz I already have an alarm installed. Is it much better? I never keep a car more than 4 yrs so for me looks like a $500-600 loss cz I can't take it away with me.

print out the above for reference ,in 4 years when u make your next car buy!!

send it back and save 300 for gas
