Default Remote start

So a few months ago I finally wanted to use my Prestige remote start that was on my h3 when i got it. Well tried all the buttons and nothing worked. So i break down and take it to the local Ztech and get it fixed. Well ended up paying 60 bucks in labor for them to tell me it was just a fuse....ugh. It worked fine for awhile but now when i go to use it instead of honking 3 times then starting it just continues to honk til panic alarm goes off. When i hit the unlock button on the h3 remote and open the door everything is powered up till i press the brake pedal....Anyone have an idea what could be wrong? Dont really want to have to fork over cash if it could be a easy fix..

I would remove the entire unit and leave it. If you really want it you may want to invest in one installed by a very competent shop. Not some Mickey mouse stereo shop.

I got a viper remote start from best buy(they installed it) for my 2009 H3T probably a few months after getting the truck. It was nothing but a huge problem. it would start sometimes and sometimes it would just seem to lock up my truck(usually during the coldest day of the year). I finally got fed up of constant trips back to best buy for them to "fix it" and then it to not work a week later when trying to use it. I finally went back and just had them remove the fuse. Back in the day I read many articles about issues regarding remote starts and the H3. My dealership even told me one time, they are nothing but a problem. Good luck

Failsafe way of making sure your remote starter works properly. Old school way. Find Directed Document 1603. Good Luck

I had the Viper system installed 2 years ago, no problems. I had a local shop do it, there in the brain, a module (which I think is needed to get around the failsafe)..but it works great.
