Default Reccomendations for 50k maintenance...

I am about to turn 50k and warranty will be gone, anyone have any reccomendations for maintenance I should do? I have never done any of the dealer suggested maintenance (eveytime I take it in they seem to suggest something that should be done at every 2k mile incriment, and I have to think some of it is just BS).

Appreciate your advice.

If you take it to a dealer than yes a lot is BS. I am not at 50k but I just did changed out the oil in the TC and diffs and flushed the tranny and rad. Oil change and air filter and new brakes.

Just make sure every little thing works perfectly because they will replace it under bumper to bumper. But you'll be screwed after warranty expires.
For instance two of my speakers had a little static and they replaced them, and my battery was a smidge below full power, and they replaced it no questions asked.

Do you have an owners' manual, and have you ever looked inside it?

1)T case fluid change;
2)A/T fluid change if severe duty;, and
3)clean air filter or replace OEM air filter.

Doc is right, read your owner's manual. Section 6 to be precise.
Most of the large items like trans/t/case etc., depend on your driving style. If you are only driving on paved roads with no hills or stop and go traffic, the trans and t/case requirements are 100K. If you off-road, do a lot of stop and go, travel in the mountains or tow a trailer than it is 50K.

Axles are not even on the schedule due to the use of synthetic fluid....BUT, personally, I would go with the above schedule for axles too.

But dealers are in the business to make money and they will tell you amazing things that have to be scheduled for warranty. If the dealer says required, pull out the manual and make him read it. If they say recommended, then they have the right to recommend anything.

That's what I had done at 50000. The dealer wanted to do WAY more than that, but that's all I let them do.
