2010 H3 Alpha, yesterday turned the car on and the mirror suddenly would not light up.

OnStar button works, but no outside temp, no compass and even more importantly no rearview camera).

OnStar said to press the on button, but that did nothing.

Pulled the wiring out behind the mirror, put it back in and still nothing.

Any thoughts? The closest dealer is the worst and I won't have time to get this to a better dealer for service until the end of the week.

You're probably pushing the OnStar 'ON' button. You need to push the button farthest to the left, on the mirror. It's a circle with a vertical line at the 12:00 position. That's the compass/temp Off/On button.

 

Gosh, I wish that General Motors would have put something in the glovebox that I could reference when I have an issue with something related to to my vehicle!

Pushed that button.

Read elsewhere to hold it for 3 seconds.

Nothing.

 

All the functions of the mirror are not working, not just the compass/ temp but also the rearview camera.

And I have held down the button multiple times.

Any other suggestions?

 

Does your cruise control work? If not, look in the book in the glove box and find fuse 35 (Cruise, Inside Rearview Mirror) and replace it.
