Okay so my rack has a boot leak i took the boot off and the inside was dry it was just the outside...
I checked for other leaks in my hummer and i didnt had any.

 

Possible oil got on it when doing an oil change?

Actually i replaced the pressure hose because it was leaking maybe some oil fell onto the chassis and it got it wet im checkingbfor other leaks but theres none so maybe that was it

 

Do you have a part # for the hose?
Inspection station just said our H3 failed for a leak.

 

Did they show you were the leak was have you spotted the leak your self?

What i did was replaced the whole steering system since i damaged the pump and hoses because the rack was bad haven't had problems since then.

If you need any help changing any parts let me know here i will explain step by step since i did it so many times because those parts i kept buying were from autozone and o'raillys, i recomend napa they make the best parts.
its been 6 months since i replaced everything I haven't had a problem since then.

 

I think the shop is trying to screw us over as the only oil I see is from the recent oil change on the rack and pinion. In Maryland the you only have to go through state inspection once so the shops always try to screw you over.

I will clean everthing up to see if it is leaking and get back to this post. My H1 was wet for the 10 years I owned it.

 

Yeah clean it really good, go drive around a little check if its wet again.
