Thumbs up Quick fix for corner cover

I had a few dings and scratches from shopping carts etc on the corner covers of my H3. Tried some textured paint but that did not look good. See first photo. Saw a lot of people using the Dupli Color truck bed coating and thought I would give that a try. I cleaned the panel, masked the rest of the truck and started to give light sprays till I got the texture that I wanted. I was really impressed with the results so I went on to the mud flaps. They now have a more industrial look and if you get another scratch or ding just shake the can and spray. See pics to get an idea of what it does.

Very nice!

Please, please open a photobucket or other free picture storage account and post these up full size so members can get a better look.

I will try to get a photobucket set up when I get home. The pics come in at a good size on my laptop. I will look into it.
Thanks for the comments!

They have a new water based formula of bed liner in a can that is suposed to be more durable than the regular Duplicolor. Dupli-Color :: Bed Armor

I used that regular Duplicolor on a front bumper and unfortunately it gets pretty brittle and flakes off after awhile. Nice thing is you can re-spray it easily when it chips.

I went to the dupli color bed armor site and saw the picture of a finished truck bed and I think it might be more durable but It does not have that even coating that I was looking for. It looked liked it clumped up in certain areas. For a truck bed I would go with it but for a bumper or side panel I would still stay with the dupli color bed coating. From what I saw, it produces a more factory finished look. Thanks for the additional information. If you try it on your bumper or side panels I would love to see some pics on how it went on.

The pic on their webpage is the roll-on version of the bed armor, and you are correct it doesn't lay down very even, but I've used both of their spray liners and the spray can version of the newer bed armor goes on as even as the older stuff you used but it does have a bit more texture due to the rubber content.

After the regular product flaked off my Jeep bumper, I stripped the bumper down and used the new water based formula which seemed to hold up much better.
