Question to all HUMMER owners...
Geeeze, First a Geo Metro owner, than a Canadian,
The thing that impressed me about a Hummer, we had a huge wreck with a Hummer H2 vs a large Dodge 3/4 ton.
The Hummer blew the Dodge away, all that was left of the Dodge was the chassis with the motor sitting in the frame. The cab and box were blown off. It unfortunatley killed a grandmother and her grandchild.
The Hummer took some front end damage, and minor injuries to the driver. However the Hummer driver was at fault, he had 5 drugs in his system and crossed the center line.

So, you're going to play the "un American" card huh? As far as I am concerned my Humemr is about as American as you can get. I really hate the fact that the brand was sold to a Chinese businessman, but what can you do? As one other person already stated. Most American cars are just assembled in America. The parts are made all over the world. Heck, many of GM and Ford's vehicles are even assembled in Mexico and Canada. To me, Toyota and Nissan are as much American as Ford and Chevy. They employ just as many American workers as the American manufactures. Don't get me wrong, I respect the American manufactures, as they have deep roots in American culture.
As far as the whole gas guzzler thing goes, when someone can make a good solid 4- wheel drive all terrain vehicle with a spacious interior that gets 50 miles per gallon I will be one of the first people at the dealership. But the fact is that we're a long way from that. I refuse to drive a cracker box that has 2 foot of cargo room and an inch of clearance from the ground. I need a vehicle that gets me from point A to point B, RAIN OR SNOW. I need a vehicle that can haul whatever I need, when I need it. If that means it has to suck a little more gas to do it, then so be it. I see lots of cars on the road that get the same OR LESS gas mileage as my Hummer. I'll name a few. Mustangs, Camaros, Corvettes, Challengers, Chargers, Cadillacs, you get the point. If you want to rag on someone then rag on them. They guzzle gas for fun. I do it because it's what is required to make my families life a little easier.
I don't want to hear "un American". I've served in the military for seven years. My family has two American ASSEMBLED cars. As far as the Chinese buying Hummer, I don't worry too much about it. My Hummer still has a GM tag on the side. It wasn't made in China, so I don't care. And the brand isn't Chinese, a Chinese business person just happened to buy it. It's just business.

I agree tired of this thread delete it.
Yes, don't feed me... clearly I am your enemy
Most of our production here in the Alberta Oilsands goes down to the US, last time I checked we actually get along ok.
BTW. Fun fact for you:
The entire Alberta Oilsands operations accounts for about only 1.3% of what coal power plants produce for C02 emmisions. Electric cars will only worsen the problem...
PS: Where are the mods in all of this? While sometimes humorous to feed the trolls; Threads created by goofs like this should have the account banned and thread locked up right away.

I can hardly wait for some snow to cover the streets, how 'bout you Geo man?
Also, a Hummer is a rolling work of art on the streets and trails of America, while the Geo Metro is nothing more than hideous roadside trash. Please please stop polluting the USA with ugliness, rid our streets of your trash and take it to the dump where it belongs. I am for the beautification of America, please join with me and drive a Hummer.

God Bless America! I drive an H2 and love it... May everyone enjoy what they have, this is still america and Hummer ROCKS! Oh, And may the winter kick *** but it will be of no concern to us! Be nice to us last year I pulled many out of the snow drifts and they all seemed to like a hummer helping them out.
I doubt you pulled "many" people out, unless you are just some gentleman that all he does is be a nice guy, even though he drives the stereotypically douchebag vehicle.
Another Liberal that just hates the way Americans live. They just cant stand what the constitution stands for and they always have to try to change the way we live in the name of fairness. There is more fuel out there than what we can do with. And there are lots here right in the USA. Stop all the liberal BS and all the lies. America doesnt need changeing, you do. I'll drive what i damn please, and use what fuel what i damn please. Why must you and your idealiogs transform us. What do you feel so guilty about?
The primary way the small car manufacturers reduce fuel consumption is to build them small, light weight, and underpowered. You can't defeat the laws of physics. This economical combination translates into serious personal injury in the event of a moderate accident. If you ever saw a presidential limousine or a military transport vehicle up close, you would understand the value of a solidly built automobile. The extra money I spend on H2 gas would not come close to paying the medical bills for the occupants of one of those little gas mileage cars in a crash. Consider your Hummer fuel bills cheap insurance against a life changing injury in the event of a collision, not to mention the comfort we are enjoying. It's all about priorities. We each have our own...I choose Hummer.
