I am new to this forum and I just bought a 06 H3. I noticed on my dash by my lights it has a air outlets button and also the vents on the the Hood (one on each side). What are the purpose of these?

I have a 08. I dont know what you are referring too, can you post a couple of pics of what you are talking about. Also, welcome to the forum and congrats on your purchase.

 

Not sure to post them here off my phone. There is 2 vents 1 on each side of the Hood by the windshield don't know what they purpose.

 

Those are passive engine compartment vents by the hood. Hot air rises out of those as you drive and pushed by the fan. It seems to me they don't really work as intakes since that comes thru the passenger side fender above the liner.
Some people have modded the pass side to act as an intake to the engine.

I'm not sure what you are describing about the air outlets button by the lights??
