Power steering problem
While driving my h3 out of the driveway this morning, I notice a grainding sound when I turn the wheel either right or left and the truck will not move unless I step on the gas pedal real hard. I took the truck to check the power steering fluid, but the power steering fluid was ok. I also change my front brakes but I am still getting this problem. i just placed a call to GMAC Hummer and I am awaiting an answer. Hopefully this problem could be resolved by GMAC Hummer.

this problem keeps showing up,described as many different things,,guesses. its been discussed to death but not enuf people pay attention.
i was lucky to have a CARMAX salesman drill it in my head NOT to use lock mode on pavement. i was completly new to 4wd/awd in july o9.
i took it serious and added a flashing red led to my dash, alerting me if i accidently bump a lock button.
im again urging anyone who doesnt understand the problem to jump in and ask questions, keep the discussion going so it gets understood.
WHEN TURNING,,ALL WHEELS MUST ROTATE AT DIFFERENT SPEEDS. IN A LOCK MODE THEY CANT UNLESS THEY SLIP. ON SNOW ITS OK, ON DRY PAVEMENT THEY WONT SLIP TILL YOU GIVE IT THE GAS TILL THEY BREAK FREE. THATS WHEN THE NOISES START,,SOME TIME VERY EXPENSIVE NOISES.
IF ANYONE DOESNT UNDERSTAND THIS,NOWS THE TIME TO LEARN. MANY HAVE ANSWERS,,

Thank you RKSmith163, that was exactly what was wrong, I called the dealear maintenance dept. this morning and sure enough the 4HI Lock was on. turned it off and problem solved. Thanks god. I just love my H3 and don't want anything to go wrong with it. This is my baby.
i had my track pinon change in my hummer h3 and after that i got a message of failure in the Electronic Stability System, i have been told that i need to have the steering wheel centered because was probably crocked or moved during the process.i think that i can do it myself but i have not idea how i will know when is centered right again?,ANY IDEAS?
