I am looking to buy a 2005 H2. When test driving, the power steering makes a noise when turning either left or right. I have not heard this noise on other H2's that I have driven. Any ideas???

 

did you check the power steering fluid? If its low it will make noise when you turn.

 

Yes we did. The fluid was full. I have found other threads that mention removing the front skid guard and look to see if it is rubbing. I will check that when we look at the H2 again. Thanks.

 

How many miles on the truck

 

This H2 has 178K miles. We looked at it more thoroughly and believe the noise is coming from the steering box or steering column. It also had play in the steering that we believe is connected to the steering box. This, in addition to other issues, caused us to pass on this H2. Still looking and I'll find one.
