Question Power outlets to switched 12v?

The front two power outlets under the radio, what's the easiest way to make these turn off when the engine is off?

The best (and easiest) way to do this is get yourself a 30amp relay switch (Radio Shack). Cut the feed wire to your lighter plugs and use that as the 'input' voltage to the relay. From the output side of the relay, feed that back to your lighter plugs. Use the power wire feeding your radio as the 'trigger' wire to the relay. Run the relay ground wire to any bolt/screw under the dash that goes into metal. This way it will operated with the ignition off/on, and still be protected by the lighter plug fuse under the hood.

Default great simple solution

and relays are cheap and reliable.

i used to use old horn relays,,real cheap!.

or a the junkyard grab a handfull from a wreck, most cars have a bunch.

they use the flat faston conn, crimp on and be done
