yeah any "pressure" could easily escape thru the clean air in port so its not likely pressure causing the oil dump.
im trying to figure what they did to cause it. i think ,IF it was the rear seal, they botched the $1000 job. the cover plate around the rear seal could be leaking. i dont know much about it but proper reassembly is critical the book says.
its still a 160000 mile motor, leaking oil.

Yes, maybe they messed up seal install, didn't reseal rear cover. I think best thing to do would be take it to another shop and have them look at it. If they messed up the job they should come to the plate and fix it for you. But taking it back to them may just cause grief if they are not up front with you. Things like this is what give the industry a bad name, I have messed up a few times over the years but when I do the customer does never pay for me to correct my screw up, its not fair to the customer and I like to be able to sleep at night. Honesty builds good customer relations in any business

the crimped hose was still attached when they did the work. I had detached it from the air box, it was too tight coming from the case so I routed it out the side. (10pm Sunday in dark wearing flip flops) I THOUGHT I had relieved the pinch. IN ADDITION, I pulled the dip stick from its seat thinking it would help equalize pressure if it continued to build. After this I ran the truck and watched as oil continued to run out of the inspection hole to the flywheel. At this point my assumption was, the high pressure had caused permanent damage to the seal, that's why I made the decision to have it changed. I'm reality, had I completely removed the hose I would have stopped the leaking. The seal they removed looked fine they said. I've put 20 miles on it and no leaking, runs great. What I don't understand is, at the point where I removed the dipstick, why didn't it stop building pressure? Anyways, once something like this happens to me, I sell. Anyone want a 2006 base model H3? Black on black with touch screen blue tooth stereo and a led light bar? $11,000.... San Francisco, Bay Area lol
