Default possible new hummer owner

Hello all, my name is Trevor and am from Salt Lake City Utah, currently I drive an 07 f-150 aka the gas pig, and have decided to look at getting into something smaller that is going to be better on gas. Was between a jeep grand cherokee and an H3. decided to go with the H3 because I have always loved the look of them and its a dang hummer! So I thought I would join on here and start getting some ideas of what to watch out for, I have never owned a hummer but since its GM I feel comfortable with it as far as the mechanics go.

How does everyone like their H3?
what are pros and cons?

Thanks in advance!

This is my current ride

Welcome Trevor!

I bought my 2006 H3 3 weeks ago and I love it... If you want a little more power go for the 2007. If you want a lot more power get an Alpha. If you like to go off-roading make sure you have the Adventure package.

Good luck!

Adv pkg/Offroad pkg with the 3.7L or V8 would be my recommendation.

Just got my 2006 H3 about 2 months ago and LOVE it. Has the Adventure pkg. just the basic model. Have had other SUV's, 4x4's blah blah but for me this is it. As mentioned not fast out of the gate, takes just a little extra time to get up to speed but hey, it wasn't built for speed. If you want speed go buy a Vette. You won't be sorry with a H3.

Yeah I test drove one today and definitely not a speed racer but it feels so solid and it handled really well. Decided to pull the trigger and get me one. Just need to find the right one for the right price. I think I would be fine with the base model, its lifted enough for me, has the 4 high and low lock. I dont plan on crawling rocks.

My advice would be check under the carpets for a swamp. I found one after I got home...in process of drying it all up.
