Possible new H3 owner
Greetings. I'm looking at possibly replacing my current work truck (Isuzu Rodeo) with a 07 H3 if I can work out the $$$. I like the looks, need the storage space, need the 4WD for the few days we get bad weather here in TN. Never fails some network on the other side of the state will fall down and I’ll need to get there no matter the weather.
It shows 55K on the odometer, looks to be in good condition to the eye. I would have it gone over by my wrench guy prior to sealing the deal.
Is there anything in particular I should pay extra attention to?
The" head issue" Ive been reading about? Where can I check the vin against the "bad" list?
Thanks for helping the new guy

actually i think it did carry over into some of the first 07's made. so you should check for a vin range. check the radiator for sure, it seems like everyone will have a hairline crack on the top right side of the rad.
oh yeah and don't pay anywhere close to what blue book says. because nobody else is these days.

I bought my '07 with 70k on it(04/12). I paid $16k, loaded, super clean, & mint condition(kbb over $21k). All fluids looked good, however I changed the engine oil with full synthetic. Flushed the transmission with 16qts full synthetic(bg equipment & cleaner/additives). Put a set of Falken WildPeak A/T tires on it. 4 Monroe Reflex Monotube Shocks. Replaced the spark plugs & spark plug boots.Seafoam the throttle bore/plates. New air filter & 3 wiper blades too. Bought a gallon of Lucas fuel injector cleaner and add a couple ounces on every Premium fuel fillup.
Recently I changed the radiator (cracked). Also ordered a tstat & radiator hoses, (which I received after I installed the radiator) that I will put on, along with new hose clamps & new Dexcool coolant.
Next I will be changing the differentials fluids.
Other than that, I Installed a set of 4 window deflectors, 2 chrome license plate frames, I washed it a couple of times, cleaned out the sunroof drains, and changed 1 brake light bulb.
Runs and Rides like a Dream!

Found this on another site:
PIP3935D: Misfire At Idle Due To Leaking Intake Valves - Supplement To 07-06-01-011 - keywords 2.8L 3.5L compression controls cylinder drivability DTC engine excessive head high L52 LK5 leakage leak down low - (Mar 18, 2008)
Subject: Misfire at Idle due to Leaking Intake Valves - Supplement to 07-06-01-011
Affected: 2006 Hummer H3 with Last 6 of VIN Less than 287591
The one I'm looking at is a 07 but it falls in the VIN range
