Default Plasti Dip Engine Shield?

Wondering if anyone has plasti dipped the front engine shield under the bumper? Seriously considering blacking out that raw aluminum look, was wondering if anyone had pics of a completed one before I do it?

The front skid plate? I would use actual paint on there. Using plastidip on the part that takes the most abuse IMO is a waste of time. It will just peel off.

Duratex bedliner spray is another option. It's easy to apply too.

I've been painting vehicles for many years and have never found something that really holds up, but I've been doing some reading lately on plastidip. I don't have any first hand experience with it yet but plan to experiment with it on a few parts soon just to see. I've read that it does help protect parts from rocks and such being thrown up against the lower part of the body on a vehicle. I can't imagine that it would really hold up if you do any serious off roading though on the skid plate. I imagine that you would probably have to recoat it after wheeling most of the time. I don't know though, you may be pleasantly surprised with it. I read info on it from the company that makes it and it sounds pretty durable, but I've read a lot of things from companies over the years that boasted their products that did not hold up. If you do try it let us know how it holds up. Do you do much off roading?

Rust-Oleum Hammer Tone Dark Bronze or Black that sucker. Make sure to clean, then prime with an adhesion promoter primer.

I have used plentyof paint and plenty of plastidip. Plastidip isn't going to hold up well down there. It's ok if you just want to get an idea of what something might look like before you dive all in but that's just my opinion. I painted mine black if you see any of my other threads there is a pic or two I'm sure.
