That is usually not an intermittent problem.

 

Ive had issues with mine before too...its the hydro-electric or electro-hydraulic....one is areally big damand the other is a braking system.
To me, its kinda scary. It has to pressureize before it works. If you turn your ignition to On for a while, you'll probably hear it working every so often. It sounds like a air pump to a fish tank. Some mornings when I roll out of the driveway too quick after starting the engine, I push the brakes and nothing happens. Have to hit em twice.
In your case, the pump might have had an air bubble in it so it wasnt primed or maybe it just wasnt working. Could have been a loose wire but you would have seen an ABS light most likely.

But I'm reminded of something a coach told me once. 'Speed is your friend...when in doubt...GAS IT! Get as far away from the problem as possible.'

who knows what happened that whole week but it is perfectly fine now... oh well.

i guess I got to test drive a Chevy Silverado for an extended period of time...

 

I would rather have the problem and know it than think I don't and have it occur. Hope it doesn't return.
