Default Passenger folding mirror

Hello all,
My mirrors decided they would stop folding in. I noticed that the passenger side mirror would no longer adjust, then the folding mirror problem. 3 questions. Will the passenger mirror not adjusting cause both mirrors to not fold in? Can I get a mirror rebuild kit? Where is the best deal for quality/price for a replacement?
Thanks so much in advance for any help.

The mirrors are cool, but faulty as ****. Try pushing the driver side mirror at the bottom so it looks down and see if they will fold. There is a position sensor for the stepper motor that won't allow the mirrors to fold in if it can't read it. If you can't adjust the mirrors likely communications with that piece is broken. I don't know of a rebuild kit and the mirrors are crazy expensive at 400+ a pop someone should do a replacement for them but so far they ones I have seen kind of suck worse than the oem mirrors. They can be found on ebay or you can get them from any number of gm part suppliers.

Pauldy, thanks for your input. The driver side mirror tilts down, the passenger one doesn't, so I'm sure there are position input per missives not being met by passenger mirror. I'm an OEM kinda guy, less problems usually, but Dang these mirrors cost!

I'm in the same boat. My driver mirror won't fold and I can't manually fold it. Those mirrors are expensive!

Is there any differences in the model years? I need one one for an '06 but can only find ones for '07-'10. TIA

Yes, there are differences between the older model mirrors and the more "newer style" H2 mirrors.

The older style mirrors have the flat front chrome bezels. While the newer style H2 mirrors have the more decorative front chrome fronts that have the "H2" logo on them.

Here are a few pics of the mirror motor on the H2's.

Mine are failing too, and I noticed on the driver side if I push at the base of the mirror so it tilts downward I can retract the mirrors just fine. I have lost all control on the actual mirror positioning now though.
