installed a ported throttle body on my hummer h3 3.7L i5 and now the check engine light is on.

Diagnostic OBD Scan tool gave me a P0121 error code.

Has anyone ever encounter this code.

OBD-II Trouble Code: P0121 Throttle Position Sensor/Switch A Circuit Range/Performance Problem

 

Might have some dust in the electrical connector or TB side. Easy stuff first.

1. Inspect the electrical connector wire/loom for any issue.
2. Clear the code.
3. With the motor off, disconnect it, inspect, spray the wire connector and TB connection with electric contact cleaner, let dry, reconnect.
4. Start. Do not touch the pedal for at least a full minute, let the PCM adjust throttle position at idle.

See what happens & let us know.

 

Connection issue, pull the plug and check the pins/contacts, and securely reconnect. Also, perform the steps posted by Doc, if the code returns, you have a defective tb. GL

 

Fixed

-Disconnected negative battery cable.
-removed PCM-B No.25 Fuse
-removed air intake
-Disconnected TB and removed it
-Cleaned TB

*Checked connector to MAP Sensor , removed it and cleaned it Oh boy was it DIRTY!

Reinstalled everything back and it Cleared P0121 Code.
