I picked up the truck this afternoon, and have driven it since. I am TIRED, lol!!!!

Having driven an Audi A4 for the past 3 years, this if of course quite a different beast, but I really like it! That new car smell is really quite intoxicating.

Tomorrow, me and my camera are going to take the H3 out for a photo shoot, I promise to post pics as soon as I get home I know of a nice trail in the saddleback mountains that would be a good place to get know my new truck.

Then, I might just stop by one of the local Sport Chalet's and get some equipment for camping.

So far, the only "mod" I am thinking about, isa different / better head unit for the sound system. My H3 has the Nav / XM / single CD radio but it is really rudimentary and I am just baffled that GM can't sell a truck like this with either a 6 CD changer (even if it was a remote one in the back) or a USB connector, SD card reader or iPod connector. Another reason I am thinking about another head unit, is that I WANT BlueTooth integration with my cell phone. In a couple of months when the Audi's lease is up, the H3 will most likely become my daily driver. At that point, I will need a good way of using my cell phone hands free.

I know that Pioneer has nice head units. Any other suggestions for a GPS nav / XM / Mp3 / iPod / bluetooth enabled headunit?

Itook the H3 out today for a short drive up and down a trail nearby. I took some pictures, they are posted here:

Off-road is where this machine is designed to be, and where it likes it the best methinks :-)

Today, I experienced my first drive on the freeway for any meaningful length of time.

I am SO impressed!!!!!!!!!!

My trip was from Capistrano State Beach back home to Aliso Viejo. Part of this stretch, has these horrible broken concrete slabs that makes cars go "ba-bang ba-bang ba-bang" as you drive along.

I am VERY happy to say that the H3 was quiet, VERY smooth and comfortable going over these bumps, I really believe it is more comfy than my Audi A4. Of course I did feel SOMETHING as I was going along, but a LOT less than I had expected.I am _so_ impressed of how the off-road suspension just soaked up these bumps.

I am getting _very_ attached to this truck!

As I was driving home, some idiot in a Volvo S80 thought it would be fun to drive REALLY close behind me. The idiot was so close that I could barely see the roof of his car in my rear view mirror. This all happened as I war driving along in the right lane, at an indicated 65 mph. The idiot thought it would be fun to beep his horn and flash his high beams. I simply took the truck off cruise control and let is coast down to 50 mph, at which point he thought it fun to pass me to the right, on the hard shoulder.

I wonder what I did to invoke his wrath, lol!!!!

The fun part is, had I stepped on the brakes when he was super close to me, his (dads) Volvo S80 would have ende dup underneath my H3, after a close encounter with my tralier hitch receiver.

BTW: The first tank of gas netted an approximate 12.1 mpg.

Love my H3!

You will get people like that from time to time. Some locations are worse than others. I had some guy in a Jeep Patriot messing with me today, he was in the middle lane of a 3 lane HWY doing the posted 65. Well, I was (as usual) doing about 73 (that's where I set my cruise) in the left lane. Once I passed him all of a sudden he was on my butt so I moved over and he zipped around me and looked over at me. I just laughed, all of a sudden he was in front of me going slower than me again. Whatever, I don't have their issues. Just let them go, usually the cop will be sitting around the next corner waiting for them
