Default Oil Plug Size

Does anyone know the oil plug blot size on the H3T Alpha 5.3L, V8?

After doing an oil change this weekend I am tired of removing the skid plate and having the oil hit the cross member on the frame and make a huge mess.

I decided I am going to order a Fumoto oil drain with the hose.

I measured the bolt and know it is 12mm but I don't know the thread pitch. Has anyone purchased a fumoto and know the size or if someone is doing an oil change soon can you measure the pitch between threads.

I have installed a Fumoto # F107N
F107N | Fumoto Engine Oil Drain Valves

I have a I5 engine. but I think it's the same for the alpha V8.

These are excellent. I've used them on two vehicles.

Neither has ever leaked. I'd say it takes a 1/10 of the time it used to take to change my oil.

OP, can you confirm that it fits after getting the valve?

Thanks.

Edit. The valve also works for the H3 Alpha (or any of the 5.3L V8s) and the H2 6.2L as well.

When I went to change my oil with the fumoto plug, oil just trickled out. Took a long time to drain the oil. It must be clogged or something.

Did you unscrew the oil cap on the engine first? I ask because I've pulled that stunt before & wondered why everything took so long. I hope it's that & not something major.

I've had 2 of these (not on hummers, yet) & they drained quickly.

It drained fast before without unscrewing the oil filler cap.
