Default Number of Service visits: How many have you had?

My official count is 10 since October, 2005.

Two of them have been broken differntial bushings.

Three were the broken differential bushing which didn't get fixed because I got the old "We can't reproduce the problem"

One was a bad pully and belt which was replaced.

One was the half-shaft replacement.

One was a bad/leaky CV Boot (that was only a few months after I bought it. Good thing I check for stuff like that).

One was an electrical short on the fuse box (the day after I bought it)

One was the rear wiper sprayer motor died and needed replacement.

There were a few other odd's and end's combined with the above, like the transfer case leaking fluid, the plastic roofliners (those had to be replaced a few times because of shrinking/cracking), Oh, and the last one had broken steering box bushings as well.

There was also a small incident where the service guy accidentally grinded a small area of my bumper away, that had to be repainted

I think there were a couple of other odds and ends as well.

Oh yeah, and 8 car rentals out of those 10.

And to think, I only went off-roading once (well, the second time we couldn't fit our H3's through the trails, but supposedly they were Hummer-friendly, so we had to leave [:@])

And then you guys wonder why I'm so aggrivated

I think you have suffered far more than anyone else I know. Bar truck, bad dealer, or combination of both. We have had the H3 Alpha in for an oil change. ( 6k on this one ) The H1 Alpha had to have the rear e-locker replaced and a shim kit put on the driveline to eliminate an irritating bump upon acceleration. Outside of that no issues ( 19K ) The 97 wagon is out of warranty and likes to go to the Hummer spa a little more often.

1 - bad battery (okay, they came to me since it happened on Day #2)
2 - bad headlight wiring, no highbeam
3 - bad turn signal wiring, broken when fixing headlight wiring
4 - 1st fix on steering shaft issue (we know fix #1 didn't work)
5 - broken u-joint, also replaced crossmember. Loose/rattling rear door.
6 - 2nd and final fix on steering shaft issue
7 - roof rail fix
8 - knocking sound underneath, low speeds, cool/cold air. Unable to diagnose.

Self-inflicted
1 - bent front propshaft (bought part at Hummer dealer, Chevy dealer installed. Long story)
2 - blew out tire on the trail (didn't replace at dealer)

Only once, and that was to get my windshield done over again.

I think you said in another thread that your H3 is coming off of lease soon. You definitely got one of the early build ones and have had a lot of problems no one else has had. And you seem to like the H3, just not yours . Turn it in at the end of the lease and get a new one. They are awesome you know that, but yours, uh, hasn't been so friendly.

3 times so far

1 Visit for the 1st Oil Change and Alignment after crankin T-bars.
1 Visit for the Cylinder Head Diagnosis
1 Visit for the Cylinder Head Replacment

I need to go in for cracked roof rail replacment under warrenty.

I stay away from dealers when possible and now especially since H3 Alphas are on the lot
