Hi everyone! I am new here but I have had my Hummer H3 almost 1 year now and I love it! However; I notice that when I am in a curve and my wheels start to slide that my hummer will lock up. My steering wheel will lock up and it feels as if someone is holding the hummer in place and placing the brakes to it. Is this normal?

 

u are in hi lock mode, check buttons, push the left one and see ??

You did not specify year but do a search here for the "Plastic **** fork" in the transfer case.
See if what you are experiencing is what has been posted there.
That fork is what moves the gears in the transfer case to engage and disengage 4-hi and 4-hi lock, its made of plastic(what were they thinking?) and they do break.
The replacements are metal.
The fork is a $35.00 part but the transfer case has to come out for it to be replaced.

if u pushed the left button, 4hi and still have the problem, do not drive on dry roads or you will stress the drive train and can cause serious damage.
is it still acting wrong?
