other 4 ok?.
if you are positive its zero comp, you have a serious mechanical problem.probably need to at least pull the valve cover as a start.

If you have confirmed zero PSI in cylinder 1, then you have a mechanical failure. Bad valve, bad valve seat, bad valve spring, bad valve spring retainer or a trashed lifter and or lifter cam lobe.

Well it's not- 20 outside so thought I'd recheck I the compression.

1=50
2=155
3=150
4=120
5=120

Like in mentioned in previous iOS post, VIN is 229159, so strangely falls within the failure range. Only 96k miles.
Will be pulling valve cover soon.
Build date is 4/07, looks like they had an old head lying around and put it on this one.

Considering how it failed I would suspect a catastrophic failure since it didn't really have any issues.

Only thing it did was stumble sometimes when you came to a stop.

Failure range? Were there certain VINS that are known to fail?

I may be wrong but I think any VIN where the last 6 are below 287591, could have the issue eventually. Supposed to be only 2006 before a certain build date.

NO. That is entirely inaccurate. They were made with valve seats that were improperly hardened. Some fail, most did not.

Actually it was for all Atlas motors (4/5 & 6) built before 04/01/2006. No they did not have an extra one before that for your truck, none of those made it to the 2007s as they were ALL 3.5L L52s in 2006 and not the 3.7L LLRs used in 2007s+.

Your vehicle is a 2007, your vin# is not in the sequence lower than the last 6#s of a 2006 as your vin number is starts with different numbers.

You have a different problem, still valve related.
