Default Newbie Question

I had my new H3 out in the woods last weekend and while taking a corner at less than 5 mph, my right rear tire caught a stump. Went over the stump just fine, only about 8 inches high but when it came down I thought the car died because it felt like I lost power for about 2-3 seconds then came back to life and continued down the trail.

Anyone had this happen?

David

Did you come down hard and fast. No smart-azz remarks guys. I know that vehicles shut down if they roll over. Maybe you triggered that sensor. Truthfully I have no idea. But it kinda makes sense.

SD, I would think that any kind of powerdown while off roading and especially in the middle of a steep climb, would be a very unwelcomed feature...I don't think that's it...It don't sound right by any means..

Dave, By any chance were you real low on fuel when this happened?

How fast were you going? Sounds like Stabilitrac kicked in and cut the throttle to save your you-know-what.

I have noticed something like this except just on flat ground. The very low end of my automatic is easy to bog down. If you tap the gas and rev it a little (about +500 rpm) and then tap it again when its revving down, you'll see it will want to sputter. If you were feathering your throttle near idle, you may have actually just caused the engine to want to die out. I've never gone all the way but i'm pretty sure after a few revs it would stall out.
