Default Newbie looking at the H3T with some questions

Well. selling our current truck and looking for an h3T
Are these things any good? Ive heard they are based on a chevy colorado frame?
with the 5.3 v8--they seem hard to find BUT what kind of fuel economy are we talking with the v8 vs the V5...I get 19 with a 2009 Silverado crew cab 2WD with the 5.3 but thats on the highway

What kind of fuel mileage does the i5 get? Im skeptical about this motor...I am a guy who will actually take this truck off road..is the 5 cylinder enough motor? and I also pull a 6x12 trailer with 2 ATV's could the I5 handle this ok?

Welcome... I have the I5 and it has plenty of torque and power for off road.. I get between 15 city 18 highway. Remember your truck was a two wheel drive. 4 wheel drives use up more gas usually.. But anyway, if you are pulling any kind of a load, I would go with the v8.. Off road or on road the I5 is plenty enough for the truck, but pulling loaded trailers, I wouldnt.. But welcome and good luck. When you pick one up, come and post pictures..

I didn't realize the V8 has a 4 speed tranny...That disappoints me because I was starting to like them...Seeing the 5.3 I thought hell i should get 18 MPG but my truck has a six speed tranny..after realizing the MPG i may not be able to get one after all...also the H3T is AWD? is your regular H3 the same?

I figured some other members would chime in who has more knowledge than me. If you are worried about gas mileage I would not buy a 4 wheel drive truck... Before I bought the Hummer I looked at all kinds of 4 wheel drives. Ford, Dodge, Toyota, Chevy... Sorry too say but none of them gets good gas mileage. The best was the Toyota FJ Cruiser... at 17-21. But I will not buy foreign, for those that do that's fine, not me, at least when I have a choice in the matter, which isn't too often anymore these days.. But the V8 in the H3 or the H3T is more than capable hauling stuff.. and Hummers are all time drive until you either engage 4 High or 4 Lo.. I hope I said that right, if not someone please correct me.. I hope you do buy one.. Once you do you will fall in love with it. Good Luck...

We've got to have a 4wd a 2wd isn't an option but it looks like the hummer h3T is out. Looks like another silverado LTZ is in my near future
