Default New Member Questions

So I'm a new member as I recently bought a sub 40,000 mile special edition 04 H2. I really enjoy the vehicle not withstanding the occasional glares from those that think their opinion, life style choices etc are of my priority. It's funny given I also drive an 06 vette and older toyota. Each obiously has their own following/uses but only when in the H2 do I worry about who is going to be offended and make rude remarks/gestures.

Truth is, I wanted a large SUV for my kids and having been in other H2's, it was an easy decision in spite of fuel costs. All this aside, the truck has been great, personalized add-ons look greatand most importantly, kids get a thrill everytime they ride in it. However, I have a couple of frustrations I'm hoping other members can offer insight on....

1. I get an occasional thump from under drivers seat area when turning in cold weather. Sounds like a suspension compenent but it's random and most often when vehicles is cold.

2. There is a rattle seemingly from the rear right side (exhaust area) that's also random but when occurs it during acceleration around 20 MPH and when holding a constant speed of about 38 MPH. It's faint and sounds like some sort of metal plate vibrating...

3. The BIG one: I have a loud high pitched wine/squeak from engine bay. (By the way, it's only dealer serviced and was purchaed from the dealer whom originally sold vehicle) 1st time in they changed belt...2nd time in they replaced alternator...3rd time in they adjusted pullies etc... Obviously I'm frustrated and lack any confidence in their ability to resolve problem. I've got approximately $800 into this problem and it's now worse than ever! It seems that the problem is solved for a few hoursof drivingand then returns.

Any suggestions would be very appreciated as I've lost confidence in dealerships service area but don't wish to take elsewhereuntil they fix problem given my time and money invested. After the fact, they of coursecan't put myoriginal alternator back on and claim the bearing were worn out even thoughthe truck has less than 40K miles andknowits history is clean.

Thanks!

Well im not sure about the other questions but I can tell you my experience. when i bought mine I had a vibration from under the truck when accelerating. it was the shield that was attached to the muffler. so i crawled under and bent it up. it stopped.

Many times squeals from the engine bay are pulley related. I dont know specifically what you mean by 'adjusted' the pulleys. But what you may need, if not done already, is a replacement idler pulley or tensioner.

I havent done it on the hummer yet but a number of my other vehicles have needed it.

Same here, there is an updated heatshield strap to fix this.
