Default New here, need help!

We have an h3. It is an 06. It is an automatic. We were sitting at the light, and went to get on the gas, and it acted like its in neutral, this was in park. The only gears that work are 1st (i think). And for sure 2nd and reverse, what could be wrong with it. If you put it into drive, it doesn't seem to engage, you can move the shifter without touching the button and it will go into neutral. Help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

did you engage the 4x drive by accedent. I did this when changing the radio and did not notice the 4 wheel drive engage. but was new and first thing thought was something wrong.

The Transmission fluid is full. Ive played with all the 4wd settings. It doesn't seem to be internal. I think it may be a sensor.

I believe you are correct. Its in today, and will be done tomorrow, the dealer picked it up, and said it would be 2300. Now its down to $900 to get it fixed.

It's my brothers. And it will most likely get sold and be his last GM vehicle. I'll let you know though.
