new h3 owner, no car knowledge....
So I have several issues that have popped up since purchasing my 2007 h3. The low tire pressure light, service TPM lights are on constantly and my service 4wd light comes on sporadically. Just today I got in and after driving for about 2 minutes there was a very strong gasoline smell, it started to idle roughly and the stability failure, service stabights came on. I'm a single female who has unfortunately been taken advantage of in the past simply bc I know very little about car care and would really like to know if someone else has these issues and what has effectively fixed the issues. Thanks in advance for any advice!
Low tire pressure light = what is your tire pressure? Get a $3 air pressure gauge at your local auto parts and check all of them on the ground. They should all have 38 PSI cold, or the light is telling you to put in more air. "cold" means after your truck has been sitting at least 4 hours after driving, like in the morning before heading out.
The service TPM may go away if you put air in the tires. If it does not, your truck is getting older, the batteries are spec. to last 10 years, but many do not make it that long...... especially if you have been driving around repeatedly with low tire pressure causing them to send the warning signal.
For the svc 4wd light, we need to know what model you have to narrow it down.... so is it a base, Lux, Adventure, or a Lux/Off Road. In other words, how many Transfer case buttons do you have on the dash?
I do not mean to sound abrasive, but being dumb about cars is a choice, and it will cost you 10s of 1000s of $$ over the years. Plenty of info. available on line, in the owner's manual, and from friends or family. Educate yourself, nothin says a woman cannot be a automobile guru!

I have tried putting air in the tires and ensured they are at correct PSI but the lights for low tire and service TPM are still popping up.
It drove fine after the incident of rough idle, gas smell, and difficult turning with several warning lights. This morning it did it again, strong smell, rough idle, tons of lights on. It also shows I now have an empty tank despite filling up yesterday and only driving 18 miles. I took it to the shop bc at this point I'm too scared to drive the thing.
I do ask family, friends and other car savvy folks when I have issues and try to learn as I go. I can fix the small things like fuses and replacing bulbs bc there are usually youtube instructional videos to save money but this is all too much for me.
Thanks for your input!

Here is the kicker, all 4 tires on the ground have to have exactly 38PSI cold. Not kinda sorta pretty close.
The system works by recognizing that one of the tires is more than a small percentage lower than the rest. If whoever put air in your tires thinks the 35 PSI mentioned in the door jam will stop the false alarms, they would be wrong. You asked for help, I am giving you your answer.
If you have all four at the same 38 PSI, that will stop false alarms. If they continue, then you have weak batteries and it may be time to replace the TPMS in each wheel.

If you tell us what Major city you are close to (never give out your address on this site or any forum) one of the members may be close by to offer some help.
Also another alternative is bring it to Pep Boys or some big auto parts place with a garage. Ask them how much a diagnostic run on your vehicle would cost, then call another place down the road for the same. Now when you go to each place tell them you are scheduled for another diag for a second opinion.
*Idea is to let them know someone else is taking a look after them so they wont screw you with unnecessary repairs/costs
Might cost you $100 or so but you will have an idea of what is going on and needs to be done
Good luck and let us know your progress

The 1st place I took it to for diagnostic said there is a fuel injector leaking, needs front and rear brake pads, front and rear brake hoses and said that should fix the server 4wd, traction failure, service stability system lights...quoted me $240 for labor and $60 in parts just for the fuel injector.
I live in North TX about 2 hours north of the DFW area.

try a 2nd place without telling them up front what you know already
See if they match
Then take best price
*Just suggesting
I know that a ton a Texans view this forum - maybe someone can point you to a reliable mechanic

A brake job (pads and rotors) will not fix your SVC 4WD, TC or StabiliTrack issues, but you might need a brake job anyway.
You have a 2007, they came with 2 different types of TCCMs (depends upon which T Case you have) since you have not provided what model you have, I am not going to guess which one you have and run down the list of culprits. Likely it comes from the T Case encoder and/or harness to it.
Best of luck.

congrats on your Hummer H3, i just got a 2008 H3 and have the same TPM light issue, i see there is an exact 38 psi for all tires replied here earlier, will try all tires at 38 psi vs the 40 psi.
NOTE: there is a TPM sensor reset sequence - see your H3 manual or do a search, the reset i haven't tried yet, looks like it will take two people to do it - one at the driver's seat and another moving from tire to tire within a few seconds each. good luck

I tried the voodoo dance around my vehicle to reset the TPM message (you hear the horn beep when a tire registers). I found out my rear driver side tire doesnt register (except in winter the alert goes off).
A dealership said they would replace my sensors for $150 (not bad) but I went there and they just reset the sensor and charged my $25 - but problem came back.
It is an 8 year old battery - they are going ka-put. Think about a 8 year old flashlight you cant change batteries in???
