Hello, I am a new member here from the area around Lafayette, LA. I was out hunting for a Little Jeep Rubicon or Sahara to play around with and keep our Grand Cherokee Limited company in the driveway. Darned if a 06 H3 with 85k miles didn't follow me home and set up camp at our house. The wife was even kind enough to place her GC off to the side and move into the H3. Says she loves it and feels safe inside from other traffic.
We are getting the H3 ready for a trip to Western Colorado the end of Sept. as I know where there are some nice mountain trails and pretty foliage that need a pic of the new beast on them. LOL
So far I have added a 7" Panasonic radio and installed front and rear cameras for her to dodge around in parking lots. If you look at the pic close you can see the flush mount frt cam between the tow hooks. Just sent it to body shop to touch up the rear door fender extensions from having stone prints in them.
Since I got it a couple weeks ago you might have seen a big info drain on your forum as I have been reading all I can about problems, solutions, and what to watch for.
And now a great BIG THANK YOU to all that have contributed to the information I have acquired on here in such a short time.

Thank you Tainter, I am originally from MI myself. Born and raised in the thumb area. Moved out when I was about 26 but always miss it and try to go back to visit every year or two.

 

Congrats on the H3. Lots of Hummer owners in Texas. In fact there was just a get together in Dallas that had LA attendees.

I just added a backup cam to our 7" double din and don't know why I didn't do it sooner. The wife loves it and so does my daughter whom is learning to drive in the H3.

 

No Chit a former Michigander in the house! Well next time your in MI let us know and we can plan a wheeling trip not far away from the thumb!

Yes Mr. Fancy Pants The cameras are a great improvement as wife is kind of small and normal visibility is very bad for parking and backing the H3. I made a mistake on introduction post my double din is a Pioneer not a panasonic, (color me red). The front camera is hooked to video input 2 and I jumpered the radio to allow video when in drive so she could turn on front camera pulling into park space then switches to rear camera automatically when in reverse.
