hi all. I gotta major problem with my hummer; I am being bombarded with info and really don't know which way to turn!! first off I live in Northern Cyprus. I own a Hummer H3 Luxury package, RHD, 3698cc, 2008 model. Chassis number ADMDN13E074387123. I know sweet FA about the internal workings of a motor vehicle but my mechanic tells me that it needs a new transmission. GM Europe doesn't have a new gearbox in stock but my mechanic could order from the US. does anybody know how much it will cost me? I want a genuine part and obviously I have to get it here. is it just a case of ordering the 'xyz-okey-cokey part' or is there more to it???

If you have to order a new one, it is as simple as finding a GM parts dealer willing to ship the trans overseas. It is a Hydra-Matic 4L60-E 4-speed automatic. If anybody over there does rebuilds of GM transmissions, you could order a rebuild kit and have that shipped cheaper instead.

hi Tainter. wow that's a lot of info, none of which i understand!! how do i determine which of the options is right for my Hummer? obviously i will have to order online and hope that the service provider can ship to North Cyprus.

 

hi Doc Olds. thanks for the reply. firstly they do not do rebuilds here, or at least i know of no-one who i could trust. the vehicle has done about 55,000 miles. i have been told not to bother with repair kits and shy away from any after-market parts. i do want to order the pukka parts so is it really as easy as you say - put a HYDRA-MATIC 4L60-E 4 speed auto in my 'basket', add shipping and check out? and i wont get asked loads of technical questions?

 

Call any dealer, do not tell them you live in Cyprus.
Give them your vin # and ask them which one you need.
They will be able to match your vin to the proper part #.

Or call any of the online GM parts warehouses below they should be able to do the same thing.
