ORIGINAL: Breezer

Scrapped the Billy Boat, leaks and rattles. New exhaust to be installed by custom muffler shop...
I took mine off too. My tips were heavily tarnished. I cleaned them up and in about a month they were tarnished again (the muffler looked good though). BB said that they would repolish the tips for me, but I had to to take the muffler off and send it to them. Although I appreciated the offer, this wasn't a practical solution. My bolts rusted pretty bad and the gasket decayed to nothing. B&B sent me new hardware and gasket. Because of he tips, I took the the exhaust off. I modified the stock exhaust by cutting off the muffler and having a local muffler/welding shop run a 2.5 dia SS pipe out the back on the passinger side.

My Magnaflows are working great, they've been on several months now. I've got about 7K miles on the pipes, no leaks, no drips, no baffles. Tips are dual walled tapered and on the outside are shiny as long as you wipe them often, they get a lot of dirt on this on the outside, I laso like the engraved MAGNAFLOW on the top of each tip. I did the 3 piece exhaust myself and didn't know jack about exhausts and it's worked great since day one. Just have everything aligned loosely and tighten from the flange back, shake the hangers and make sure they're settled in and the pipes are running true to each other and torque the sh*t out of them and you shouldn't have any leaks.

Hummer Driver (damn Raymond how you been??) and I both have Magnaflow and are happy campers. IMO this system may have more hwy drone than some others, but I really like mine, around town, Sweet!!
I have never seen in person a Billy Boat H3 system, but their Corvette systems are great quality. I chose Magnaflow over BB because I did not like the flange connection at the muffler enterance behind the axle?? Just my opinion. I never heard of a tarnishing problem til some of the previous posts???
Use Permatex 1372 Hi Temp Gasket seelanthttp://www.permatex.com/products/aut...et_Sealant.htm on the flange surface before bolting together, and torque per the instrucions (or reasonably) and I cannot believe you would ever have a leak?? Don't know what kind of hardware/bolts they give you in their kit, but grade 5 stainlees, or grade 8 steel is not hard to find.

My gasket (about0.080 inch thick) disintegrated apart in less than a year; then the flange joint would rattle. The supplied hardware (clamp and bolts/nuts) is steel. I bought an SS band clamp and SS bolts/nuts.

Has anyone tried out AFE's intake? There intakes are better quality IMO and they typically offer more hp and tq than most other intake companies
