maybe the old owner had another iPod device that they took back out before they traded it back in to the dealer and forgot to reconnect the XM?

That could be, I ended up getting the IPOD adapter from crutchfield. they say it works with the monsoon system. I guess I'll find out in a couple days if my battery goes dead.
