Need some advice
Hey guys I need some advice about my current situation. I purchased my used 08 hummer h3 luxury back in September of 2011. The H3 was advertised with a XM radio but I recently found out that it in fact does NOT have XM. I emailed the sales guy that sold me the truck and he in stated he was sorry for the mix up but there was nothing he could do. What do you guys think about this situation.
Here is the email I received back from the Dealer-
Hi Matt,
Yes I remember you. I apologize for the Hummer being advertisted as having XM. I am not quite sure how that happened. Unfotunately the XM tuning capacity in the radios has to come from the factory and if yours does not have one there is not a lot I can do. They do sell some reasonable after market systems at places such as Best Buy. Please let me know if there is anything else I can do.
Sincerely,
David

If they advertised it with XM & it does not have XM, then I would insist on them providing you that aftermarket unit at their cost or making a monetary adjustment. Otherwise I might talk to the local authorities about false advertising, fraud, etc..
But that's just me. I have very little patience for incompetence or dishonesty and this appears to be clearly one or the other.

Utimately it is up to YOU to verify everything is in order before you drive off the lot. If you bought it in Sept. and just found out....what took so long?
Before I take delivery of anything, I climb around it like a monkey and check every little function, right down to the rear wiper.
Sorry they got you. Do you atleast have the orignal ad in paper form or online? Something you can reference and have some ground to stand on?

I think what I'll do is just get an aftermarket or stock nav system that will work with the monsoon system. I realize it took me forever to figure out that the XM didn't work. I noticed before that I didn't have the XM option when pressing the band button but I hoped that after I activated the free 3 month trial of XM I would have that option. It's not really a big deal I guess, considering the deal I got on the H3.
Hey guys I just wanted to follow up on this with some great news. Today I was out putting an Ipod adapter to the radio. After taking the Radio off I noticed there was a box above the dash that had the cable unplugged. I thought to myself that would be sweet if this was the xm radio. I connected the adapter and everything. Low and behold.... It works now. Now I'm just wondering why someone disconnected the XM radio harness?
