Hey all,

I have a 2009 H3 and here recently I have been hearing and awful lot of noise coming from parts in the truck.

This first and most distinct noise is the rattling noise on the driver side, which seems to be down underneath the steering column. The noise in my opinion sounds like a golf ball running around the bottom of a solo cup when I turn my vehicle left and right. I have had my H3 to dealers in my local area and they are never able to hear the noise I am talking about. I saw the thread talking about a noise coming from 2007 models and was wondering if this would be the same problem in a 2009? So what I'm asking, what is making this noise and what do I need to tell the dealer to look for?

Noise Number 2: When I am driving my H3 down the road and hit a bump I am able to hear a very high pitch squeaking noise which sounds like it is coming from the passenger seat or the passenger door. I do not know if I am the only one who has heard this noise in their H3 but I need help determining what the problem is. I may be crazy and hearing noises but I really don't think so.

All the help I can get is greatly appreciated.

The first one sounds like the tire maybe hitting the plastic wheel well, or do you have mud flaps? The second would be you've got me, unless you have the mud flaps and again that could be the case, just where you sitting may throw off the sound alittle...

 

It is for sure not that. I have after market rims and tires but I took them off about a month ago because of the winter. The noise in the steering column is very distinct and you can tell it is something mechanical without a doubt.
