name of a part
hey people, can anyone tell me the name or part number for the piece that the bulb fits into on the rear bumber? the red light that illuminates when the lights are on and also glows brighter when the brakes are pressed. (not the lense but the part that the bulb fits into)

Hello Friend,
Some time ago, I went to my local Hummer Dealer / Parts Dept. for this same bulb socket.
I thought they were at most $10 each at most.
They turned out to be $50 each!
I guess I'll wait till I find them at a local auto wrecker / junk yard.

Hello Friend,
To Clarify,
The part which I wanted to purchase from Hummer was the Harness connector plug for the bulb socket. It is a standard three prong connector plug which is the one in the same as for the front turn signal lights.
Hummer wanted $50 for just this connector plug.
If this is any help, the rear bumper light bulb socket which you are seeking is also the one in the same as for the front turn signal lights, it is keyed the same way as well.
If you purchase this item just ensure that the rubber circular gasket fits well upon insertion.
The part number for the whole rear bumper light lens housing assembly is: 15100039 right side, and 15100038 left side.
It also comes with the light bulb and light bulb socket but not with the three prong connector plug since the item is considered part of the vehicles electrical harness.
I think it costs about $60. It may be worth just purchasing the whole assembly

Hello Friends,
For your pleasure as previously posted, here are photos of the "RED REAR REFLECTORS" I placed in the same area of the rear bumper tail lights.
I purchased them through Ebay.
They are the original parts from a 1968 TORINO GT FAIRLANE 500.
