My 06 Lux seems a bit taller than other H3s. A buddy at work just got an 08 and when I park next to his there seems to be a bit of a difference.. not much maybe an inch or so. I even parked next to a white one the other day and mine still looked taller with more gap in the wheel wells. When I got it, the dealer ad indicated "Adventure Package" but it doesn't have the rear locker and has thebase 32's. I don't think the previous owner would have put a lift on it... my sales person previously sold it to the wife of a fellow church member... it was a kid taxi.

So I'm wondering it is possible to get the optional off road suspension package without the e-locker or bigger tires... Ihave no clue which transfer case I have (nor how I could even tell).. I suspect the non-adventure one.Coulda suspensionoptionlead to howthe adventure package came up when they listed it. Based on the history, nothing would have come aftermarket so it was dealer or factory installed if so. Maybe its just the yellow looks taller against the black one with bling rims by buddy has.

I have to watch what goodies I add because of the underground parking garage at work. The garage is rated at 6 foot 8 inches... and I'm dinking the antenna on every cross pipe and sign all the way down!

 

When buying my 2008 base H3 this past Monday, it sat next to a base 2009. I kept looking at the two and I could swear the 2009 sat higher.Like you say, maybe an inch or so, but it was noticable.
Without both being on a completely flat surface and being able to measure the both it could just be an optical illusion.
It could be something as simple as different springs on the cars.

Here was something that I woried about when looking at an H3.
The very first h3 I drove was a loaner and I had it for three days. I loved the ride and how stable the car felt.That H3 had the leather seating, but I was curious about the suspension from the get go, I wanted that ride in any Hummer I ended up with. It turned out to be just the basic suspension, nothing other than that, so when I drove the base model for a while during the test drive, it was the same feel. The steering is very tight and the suspension is smooth over the bumps, more so than the truck I am driving now.
I call the H3 a car, well it rides like one, but we all know how rugged it is, these are very unique vhicles, and I have to say I'm very happy to soon be an owner of one.

 

That's funny, I notice the exact opposite of you. I have a white 06 with the luxury package and I find that mine is a little shorter than some, at least compared to my friend's 07. The size difference is also in the wheel wells. Plus she's got a roof rack which makes it look even taller.

 

... I'm scared to get the roof rack as I don't know if I'll fit in the garage at work otherwise I'd get one to put a spare tire on as I think that looks COOL! ... pain to get it down from there I'm sure but it looks tough. That would really make mine look tall, then a lift kit, bigger tires... Can't imagine what that would look like against a shorite like yours I guess I need to look for a new job [:@]
